Terri G. (Victoria, BC)
Terri was diagnosed with IPAH because she went to the hospital for abdominal pain. After some tests the doctors said she might have ovarian cancer, after even more tests they discovered it was actually pulmonary hypertension and she didn’t have ovarian cancer at all. She was then whisked off to Vancouver for further testing and to start treatment. She has been taking tadalafil, ambrisentan, and later amlodipine to treat her pulmonary hypertension.
PHA Canada was a great resource when she first got diagnosed so she wanted to find a way to give back to the organization and help future patients. She created Books for Breath in 2024 to do just that. Books for Breath is an annual book sale where she collects used books and then sells them for a discounted price for one day. The money is donated to PHA Canada. She has only been able to do it with the help of her family and friends who volunteer every year to help her set up the books and act as sales people.
Terri also has experience with:
Working with PH
Travelling with PH
