Jane S. (Ottawa, ON)
Jane received a very quick diagnosis of severe Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension in November 2016. She was treated with triple oral therapies to help keep her condition stable. With the help from a surrogate, a fertility clinic and family, Jane and her family welcomed a beloved baby into their lives. Ten months later, her PAH progressed and Jane transitioned off of an oral therapy Uptravi (Selexipag) onto an intravenous therapy called Caripul (Epoprostenol). Subsequently, she also had a work up done to be waitlisted for a double lung transplant. As she waits, she is being treated with an additional PAH treatment called Winrevair (Sotatercept).
Jane feels grateful for the support she received both from the medical professionals, PHA Canada, family, friends and her PH community peers during her early days of diagnosis and onwards. She wishes to help be a support to those also trying to navigate the uncertain waters/journey that is living with PAH.
Jane also has experience with:
Surrogacy
