Dr. Neil Goldenberg
Dr. Goldenberg completed his MD and PhD at the University of Toronto, the latter under the supervision of Dr. Mel Silverman. He subsequently underwent a post-doctoral fellowship with Dr. Wolfgang Kuebler at St. Michael’s Hospital, a residency in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto, and a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia at SickKids. He is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and Physiology at the University of Toronto and is a Scientist at the SickKids Research Institute. He has been a staff anesthesiologist at SickKids since 2018.
Dr. Goldenberg’s research thematically centres on the cellular mechanisms of inflammation, focusing on pulmonary hypertension. Since joining SickKids, he has published in top-tier journals like Nature, Nature Communications, and the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine and has been funded by the International Anesthesia Research Society and the CIHR. Among other professional accomplishments, Dr. Goldenberg is a CIHR College of Reviewers member and is on the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Physiology – Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology. He was the inaugural recipient of the John Alchin and Hal Marryatt Early Career Professorship in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto. He hold the Wasser Chair in Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
