Gail Nicholson

Graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1988 and my career lead me through med/surg and then to ICU where I worked until   2007 during that time I had the honour and privilege of working with Dr. Viner who brought the 1st PAH treatment 'Flolan' to our city. He and Dr. Helmersen opened the PH program for Southern Alberta and this was the year that I joined their team and began my full-time PAH journey.

Over the years I have enjoyed working with colleagues across the country and collaborating on projects through CPHPN, writing papers with international partners in efforts to learn best practices and share experiences to enhance the care that we are able to provide to our patients.

My patients are my passion - I learn   from them the most - they have taught me about resilience, bravery,   compassion, gratitude, tenacity, caring, how to laugh and cry when things get challenging. They enjoy the dance parties and burrito wraps when they have a   heart cath and often have some great conversations.
