Early dual treatment helps late-diagnosed PAH patients catch up

Early use of dual therapy helps newly-diagnosed pulmonary arterial hypertension patients do as well as patients six months past diagnosis.


Newly-diagnosed patients' health is often worse than patients who have been treated for six months or more. However, US registry data showed that newly-diagnosed patients given macitentan and tadalafil had, after a year, similar survival and hospitalization rates to prevalent patients. Starting dual therapy soon after diagnosis may have some benefit.
