Welcome to Advocacy Tools, your go-to resource for driving change for the PH community. Here, you'll find everything you need to support your advocacy efforts—from templates and guides to key messaging and educational resources. Use these materials to amplify your voice, raise awareness, and help push for better care and access to treatments for those living with PH. Together, we can make a difference!

Sotatercept must be publicly accessible as an additional therapy for pulmonary arterial hypertension patients.

Time Matters! Thank you for agreeing to share your sotatercept story, to meet with your provincial/territorial elected official*, or to talk to the media. By doing so, you’ll help raise awareness of this important treatment and encourage provincial leaders to prioritize and expedite negotiations so patients can access sotatercept without unnecessary delays.

Time Matters PAH:
Advocate for Sotatercept in Canada

It can be very effective to meet with elected officials to share your personal story, discuss the need for public funding of sotatercept, and ask if they can get involved.

If you're in or near Toronto, PHA Canada will be holding Advocacy Days on November 20-21 at Queen’s Park in Toronto. Meetings have been arranged with a number of MPPs. Can you attend? Let us know at 1-877-774-2226 or info@phacanada.ca.

Arranging your own meeting with a provincial/territorial representative

​

  • Ask your elected official to send a letter to the Minister of Health. Encourage your local representative to directly advocate for PAH patients by submitting a letter of support to the provincial/territorial health minister, reinforcing the need for public funding of this vital treatment. Here are draft letters for each province and territory*:

  • Follow up: Send an email thanking your elected representative for meeting with you. A draft thank-you letter is here. Also, attach a copy of the draft letter from the elected representative to the health minister.

Talk to the media

Share your advocacy efforts on platforms like Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Tag your provincial/territorial health minister, elected officials, and @PHACanada. Use the hashtag #TimeMattersPAH to spread the word and encourage others to join the cause.
