I wrote No Cure for Me as a long-time survivor of pulmonary hypertension. Knowing that I may be one of Canada’s longest survivors, it sparked a thought—what if one day I became the world’s longest survivor? I’ve set my sights on living to 103, and along the way, I couldn’t help but imagine how remarkable it would be to earn a place in the Guinness World Records. That idea—part hope, part determination—became the seed for this thriller. Writing it was my way of blending reality with imagination, turning a deeply personal journey into something bold, unexpected, and even a little daring.
People living with pulmonary hypertension should read No Cure for Me because it comes from someone who truly understands the journey—not from the outside looking in, but from lived experience. This isn’t a medical guide or a heavy retelling of illness. It’s something different. It takes the “what if” thoughts many of us quietly have—the uncertainty, the fight to outlive expectations—and turns them into a bold, fast-paced thriller. At its heart, it’s about control. About rewriting the narrative when so much feels out of your hands. For those with PH, you’ll recognize the undercurrent—the strength it takes to keep going, the decisions, the secrets we carry, and the determination to live fully, no matter what the prognosis says. And maybe, just maybe, it offers something unexpected: a sense of power.
