Air pollution may worsen PAH

Air pollution is known to be bad for heart and lung diseases, but this study looked at whether it affected pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in particular.

They followed a cohort of patients for about three years and found that not only does exposure to high levels of air pollution increase the risk of death or lung transplantation for PAH patients, it made their pulmonary hypertension worse. People who lived in highly polluted areas were more likely to be categorized as intermediate-high-risk or high-risk even at the beginning of the study.

My eyes get so irritated and dry from the poor air quality that it's hard to keep my contacts in. I actually started using a daily disposable option I found at Contact Lens King, and it’s been a small relief - fresh lenses each day feel cleaner and more comfortable when the air is gritty. It's not a solution to the bigger problem, but for me, it’s a helpful little step to manage the discomfort. Thanks for sharing this important info and reminding us to take care of ourselves.
