Past conferences
From September 11–13, 2025, PHA Canada and the PH community gathered in Toronto, Ontario, for an unforgettable 2025 PH Community Conference: Driving Change, Inspiring Hope. The event brought together patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals through inspiring keynote addresses, interactive workshops, and powerful panel discussions. Alongside the Patient & Family Symposium, the conference also hosted the National PH Medical Think Tank, the Canadian PH Professional Network (CPHPN) Meeting, and the Canadian PH Trials Network (CaPH-Net) Meeting—creating a one-of-a-kind space where lived experience and clinical expertise came together. With opportunities to connect, learn, and share the latest in PH research and care, the conference was a truly empowering experience for all who participated, whether in person or virtually.

2025 PH Community Conference
From September 19–21, 2024, PHA Canada and the PH community gathered in Calgary, Alberta, for an unforgettable 2024 PH Community Conference. The event brought together patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals through inspiring stories, interactive workshops, and engaging panel discussions. Alongside the Patient & Family Symposium, the conference also hosted the National PH Medical Think Tank, the Canadian PH Professional Network (CPHPN) Meeting, and the Canadian PH Trials Network (CaPH-Net) Meeting—making it a unique space where lived experience and clinical expertise came together. Attendees had the chance to connect with peers, learn new strategies, and hear the latest updates in PH research and care, creating a truly empowering experience for all who participated.

2024 PH Community Conference
From June 8-10, 2023, PHA Canada and the PH community celebrated 15 years of inspiring achievements in advocacy, research, and community support. The 2023 conference had something for everyone, from our keynote speakers to interactive workshops and engaging panel discussions. Over 300 participants joined us in person in Ottawa, Ontario; an additional 50 were online, tuning into our live video feed.

2023 National PH Community Conference
Building on the success of the 2021 National PH Community Conference, the 2022 National PH Community Conference empowered the Canadian PH community!
Held from May 28th to June 4th, the 2022 conference program brought the PH community together from across Canada through our virtual, bilingual program of plenary events and educational sessions.
The goal of the 2022 National PH Community Conference was to support and empower people living with pulmonary hypertension. The theme was “Explore the Possibilities”, which helped guide the development of this year’s program.
Led by medical professionals and patient and caregiver experts with experience throughout the PH journey, the series of virtual sessions allowed participants to acquire skills to successfully manage life with PH and learn about new and emerging PH research.

This year’s program also featured topics to help build skills on the non-medical yet equally important aspects of living with PH: building the patient-caregiver relationship, exercise & nutrition, financial health for people living with PH, and a series of mind/body sessions.

Community events

Complementing the virtual program, members of the PH community held local in-person community events. Unique to each community, these events were designed to a covid-safe opportunity to connect in person with others in the area.

2022 Community Conference
The 2021 National PH Community Conference was PHA Canada’s first bilingual and virtual event!
Building and supporting a community of people affected by PH is an important part of PHA Canada’s work. By participating in PHA Canada’s national and regional conferences and symposiums, virtual meetups and webinars, PH patients, caregivers and medical professionals build and strengthen relationships with others, providing opportunities to share their experiences and learn from one another.
COVID-19 brought many challenges and changes to the way we live, work and engage one another. This time has also inspired us to find new and creative ways to connect and support each other. The 2021 National PH Community Conference, PHA Canada’s first bilingual, national and virtual conference, provided an opportunity for the PH community to virtually meet and learn form other PHers across the country, acquire skills to successfully manage life with PH and learn about new and emerging research, all from the comfort and safety of their homes.
