Social determinants of health in pulmonary arterial hypertension patients in the United States: Clinician perspective and health policy implications

Clinicians at 17 US pulmonary hypertension centres were interviewed about their understanding of social determinants of health in pulmonary arterial hypertension and their effect on patients. Participants reported that social determinants of health including patients' socioeconomic status, education, employment, housing, food, transportation, and family support, affected their health and wellbeing. They suggested that PH clinics have a dedicated social worker to help reduce inequities.
