Dr. Lisa Mielniczuk completed her medical degree at McMaster University, a residency in Internal Medicine from Queen's University, and a Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. She also completed a fellowship in advanced heart failure/cardiac transplantation at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where she concurrently completed a Master's Degree in Clinical Science and Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Mielniczuk was a Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa and the Director of the Advanced Heart Diseases Program at the Ottawa Heart Institute, with a cross-appointment to the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, building a multi-disciplinary right heart failure research program. She was Vice-Chair for Quality and Clinical Care for the Department of Medicine from 2019-2024 and was the co-founder and Director of the Ottawa Pulmonary Hypertension Program. She has led several innovative clinical programs, including a Rapid Intervention Clinic for HF patients and a Regional HF program for the Ottawa/Champlain region.  Dr. Mielniczuk is an active leader for the HF and Pulmonary Hypertension community and is a past Chair for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada.
