Gail Nicholson

After graduating from nursing school in 1988, Gail began her career in the fast-paced environments of the ICU and ER. In 2007, she embraced a new chapter when she joined the pulmonary hypertension and transplant team created by Drs. Viner and Helmersen—an experience that transformed her professional life.

Since joining the PH/transplant team, Gail has had the honour of supporting patients and their families throughout their PAH journey. She has taken part in numerous awareness initiatives and has become a dedicated advocate for the PH community. Her approach to care goes far beyond the clinical—she walks every step of the journey with her patients, celebrating their triumphs and offering compassion during the most difficult times.

In early 2025, Gail joined the Board of Directors at the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada. She looks forward to contributing her experience and passion to help guide and support the organization’s mission. Her patients have become like family, and she remains steadfast in her commitment to improving care, raising awareness, and standing alongside all those affected by PH.
