Natalie Roy

Hello, my name is Natalie Roy, and I live in Victoria, BC

I was diagnosed with IPAH in 2005 at the age of 20. I suddenly couldn’t walk without fainting.

I was diagnosed in Vancouver but moved to Calgary and began my journey. I initially started on oral Tracleer and Warfarin but as my PH progressed 2010, I added a second oral therapy (Adcirca) followed by sub-Q Remodulin in 2011 and finally switched to IV Remodulin in 2012. By 2017, I was blessed with a set of gifted lungs. Through this process, I have been supported by my husband Justin, Joplin, my soul dog,  and by incredible family and friends.

Being chronically ill was so complex and the physical impact of being on IV therapy with the non-stop infections/hospitalizations were extremely hard and had a major impact over the years but being involved and co-running the local support group in Vancouver was instrumental in keeping me connected.

Community is everything.

I am happy to answer any questions about my experience and my recovery after transplant.

Disclaimer: I’m honest to a fault!
