Support PHA Canada Today

PHA Canada strives to represent all Canadians from every region of the country, so that no matter where someone lives, they can get the support they need right in their own backyard. Your generosity helps those affected by PH in many ways.

Supporters like you make it possible for PHA Canada to provide things such as this website, advocacy and awareness programs, printed materials, our newsletter: Connections, conferences and symposia, patient scholarships, support to local groups and chapters and so much more.

Help PHA Canada unite our community from coast to coast by making a gift to programs and services, honour the fight or memory of a loved one with a tribute gift, or help keep hope alive by making a recurring monthly gift. You can donate online or use this printable form (fillable pdf) to donate by mail or fax.

If you are looking for information about making contributions in memory of a loved one who recently passed, please visit our in memoriam gifts section. If you would like to make a tribute gift to honour a special person or occasion please visit the tribute gifts section.

Designated Funding/Funding Research

We are often asked about the possibility of designating donation funds for a specific area, particularly research. Please read the statement below from PHA Canada’s Board of Directors with respect to funds designated for research. If you have any questions please contact us at giving@phacanada.ca.

As PHA Canada is still a relatively small organization, the Board of Directors does not currently feel that we have the adequate expertise and resources to undertake the huge responsibility of determining how to allocate funds for research. The Board has determined that it is not within our current mandate to fund research. This is particularly the case as funding medical research requires a substantial amount of monies, which would take us years to gather enough  to be able to make a meaningful contribution and there are currently other bodies, which are helping to support this important field. The Board of Directors feels that funds raised for PHA Canada will make more of an impact at this time, if they are being allocated to advocacy, education and awareness projects, as well as towards helping build a network of support for PH patients across Canada. We hope that in supporting these types of projects, the awareness generated will, in turn, lead to larger amounts of funding being dedicated to research from other areas. The question of funding research is one which the Board will continue to revisit as PHA Canada grows and may be something that we decide to undertake in the future.
