World PH Day Photo Campaign Deadline Extended


Missed the March 20 deadline for sumbitting your diagnosis story photos (as announced in the March issue of the Pulse)? You are in luck! We have extended the deadline until March 31, 2013.

This is a great way to get involved and help us to promote the importance of early diagnosis. Details below:

We need the help of the Canadian PH community, to ensure that World PH Day in Canada is a huge success.  In order to help us highlight the theme of the need for early diagnosis we are asking you to send us a photo telling us your diagnosis story:

Submit your photo to:

Photos, should be print quality (200 dpi or higher) and should feature a patient holding a white board/large sheet of paper with the following text (please write LARGE, legible and with a black pen):

My name is _________ (your name). I am _____ years old (age).

I was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension in ______ (month/year).

Before I was correctly diagnosed, I had symptoms for ____ years (number of years).

During that time I saw _____ doctors (number of doctors) and was told that I had________ (what were some of the things you were misdiagnosed as having). 

Before I was diagnosed, I __________ (what couldn’t you do, how severe was your PH – for example, I couldn’t walk five steps without taking a break).

Photos will be used in World PH Day materials and possibly in an early diagnosis campaign, which we are developing. Extended deadline for photo submission is March 31, 2013.
