Breathe the night away - gala for pulmonary hypertension
The German Canadian Cultural Centre
5:30 PM - 1:00 AM

Join us for an evening of elegance and fun in support of the Pulmonary Hypertension Community as we celebrate Awareness Month! The Gala will include a dinner, dance and silent auction.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a disease affecting the arteries of the lungs. It can strike anyone regardless of age, sex or social or ethnic background. In pulmonary hypertension, the arteries of the lungs become narrowed and scarred. This can result in almost complete closing of the arteries, and can lead to heart failure. PH is a life threatening disease for which there is currently no cure. Some of the symptoms of pulmonary hypertension are shortness of breath (especially with activity), bluish hands, feet and lips; swelling of the hands and feet; light-headedness and dizziness; chest pain; exhaustion and fainting.

The "Breathe the Night Away" Gala helps to raise awareness and provide education about PH. Proceeds from the event support the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada's patient support and education programs and through the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation, funds will be directed to family-centred clinical care and research programs of the Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension Service, which serves patients and families with PH throughout Western Canada.
