1st Annual PH Benefit Luncheon
The Sutton Place Hotel
1:00 PM - 3:30 PM

You are invited!

The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and The Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada (PHA Canada) are pleased to announce the 1st Annual Pulmonary Hypertension Benefit Luncheon at 1 pm on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at The Sutton Place Hotel.

Pulmonary hypertension is a disease that causes scarring and narrowing in blood vessels of the lungs leading to heart failure. It takes an average of 3 years from the time a person seeks medical attention until Pulmonary Hypertension is correctly diagnosed.

Although new treatments are promising, especially if started early, there is no cure yet, but you can help raise awareness towards earlier diagnosis so treatment can start when it is most likely to be effective.

The PH Benefit Luncheon and Six Minute Walk for Breath is an important fundraiser. We will premiere the short film “Out of breath” made by students at the Victoria School of the Arts in Edmonton. We hope to raise $50,000 in support of both the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada and the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation as they work together to make life better for patients and families living with PH.

Dr. Ian Adatia, professor of pediatrics at the U of A and director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic at the Stollery, is an internationally recognized expert caring for children with pulmonary hypertension throughout Western Canada. He leads an international taskforce on childhood pulmonary hypertension for the Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute. We are proud to have him provide this event’s keynote address.
